One of the features of the Possible house is a series of floor-to-ceiling stairs.
Design
These are not typical of the kind usually used for attic access, so do not appear to be designed as a pull-down door with folding ladder.
Purpose
Most often seen used by Kim Possible to access or egress her loft level bedroom,[1] yet there are more.
Placement
There are at least four in the house, and can be differentiated by the room under-and-behind each:
- Outside Kim's bedroom.[2]
- Outside the parent's bedroom.[3]
- Outside a bathroom.[4]
- Outside Jim and Tim's bedroom.[5]

Trivia
- The one outside Kim's room indicates there is something above her room.
- Possibly an access to the roof?
- The way Kim's stairs are situated to her room, the set outside it is offset by 90 degrees
- With at least the one leading into Kim's room, at some point the ladder portion transitions to a stairwell set in a floor. No idea if this is true of each instance as we do not see the floors each lead to/from.
- That these are indeed separate instances of the stairs is proven by the hallways themselves; although they appear identical, each have different pictures on the walls.
- That there are identical tables does not make neither hall nor stairs the same one. Only that the family bought multiple ones the same. Just like hotels will for all the floors, even across entire chains.
Notes
- It has been fan-suggested the ladder-like portion of the stairs are designed to close under power. Never seen in action.
- It has been fan-suggested that some of these instances are animation errors, especially in showing a hallway outside Kim's room. However, many other Canon instances show there is a door leading to the hall outside Kim's room.[6][7]
Errors
- A major inconsistency is a sequence of Ron leaving Kim's room via the floorpit stairwell. It follows him down the stairs to exit through a door into a hallway.[8]. While indeed Canon, as it is seen onscreen, it is unlikely as this transition not only implies an entire floor between parent's bedroom level and the loft, it suggests the Possible house has more floors/levels than the number of individual ceiling stairs imply.
- It is conceivable this was the original intention by the writers for Kim's stairs, only once the floor-to-ceiling ladder concept was introduced, the overseas animation studio's notations were was not updated.
- It also is contradicted by the sequence where Ann Possible, at night, stands at the bottom of the stairs looking up into room light calling for Kim to go to bed, and the light shuts off. This implies she was looking up directly into Kim's room with no intervening hall and door.[9]
